We build with respect
Environment

Because we believe that our responsible decisions can positively shape the standards of the industry.

Environmental strategy

Our ambition is to be an industry leader in the field of environmental protection.

We are consistently investing in renewable energy sources and reducing our carbon footprint to achieve climate neutrality. We are gradually transitioning to a circular economy model to ensure circularity in the value chain.

We do not stop there and go a step further, as we are one of the first in Poland to measure the water footprint and impact on biodiversity, in order to plan further activities in this area based on scientific knowledge. We translate our understanding of the complexity of our impact on the natural environment into a comprehensive action plan that responds to the challenges ahead.

Tackling
climate change

We associate this with taking a number of actions to lead us to achieving climate neutrality. On the one hand, this means the need to invest in renewable sources to ensure access to clean energy. On the other hand, it obliges us to take a number of measures to reduce CO₂ emissions – from the design stage of the investment to its implementation. Therefore, we plan to optimize our design processes so that they take into account the analysis of the reduction potential of a given construction site and we intend to gradually increase the share of low-emission means of transport or heavy machinery in the construction process.

STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES

2023

Striving to obtain 100% of electricity from RES from the market

2026

100% of the energy produced by the Budimex Group Companies for Budimex’s needs comes from RES

2030

Aiming to reduce CO₂ emissions from scope 1 and 2 by 20% (compared to 2020)
(the target includes a 33% reduction in emissions from the car fleet and the use of electricity from RES)

2050

Achieving climate neutrality

Close
Raw material cycle

We will start closing the raw material loop by analyzing the potential for implementing the circular model throughout the value chain so that in the next step we can develop and implement the Circularity Policy. The resulting operating standards will apply both within the Group and in cooperation with business partners. We want to use raw materials from certified sources and those that have a lower carbon footprint. We intend to consistently increase the percentage of waste recycled and use raw materials that are already recycled.

STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES

2024

Recycling and recovering 70% of soil and land

2024

Recover at least 70% of non-hazardous waste

2025

Developing a circularity policy

2026

Perform circularity analyses for each new project

Protect
Resources

At the same time, we want to increase our commitment to the conservation of natural resources. In order to do this in a conscious and responsible way, it is necessary to carry out analyses of the impact on the use of water resources and biodiversity. We aim to develop comprehensive plans to reduce our footprint in these two dimensions. We declare that we will undertake this ambitious task with full commitment.

STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES

2025

Conducting an assessment of the exposure of the company’s operations to water stress

2025

Analysis of the company’s dependence on biodiversity and the company’s impact on biodiversity

2025

Perform Corporate Biodiversity Footprint (CBF) calculations

2026

Striving for Biodiversity Net Positive
