As part of the contract, access to the Museum’s cultural resources was increased by creating a modern Visitor Service Centre through the adaptation and modernisation of the PKS transport base building. In the course of the works, the original appearance of the Camp Slaughterhouse and Dairy was restored, the cinema was renovated and a number of conservation works were carried out. The facility has gained new amenities – a spacious entrance hall and waiting room, elevators for people with disabilities, bookstores, roofed courtyards and offices for staff and guides. A control room was built next to the main building. Two underground passages with a total length of 390 meters were also made in architectural concrete technology. During the earthworks, an anti-aircraft crack from World War II was discovered, which was recreated and exposed to visitors in a new place. An element of the investment was also the comprehensive development of the areas around the completed buildings.
