The former building of the Museum of Geology of the Jagiellonian University has changed its function to an administrative one, now it houses, among others, the so-called Welcome Centre of the Jagiellonian University for international students. Budimex has completed a contract covering the reconstruction and extension of the building in the “design and build” formula.

After the necessary demolition works were carried out, the structure of the building was modified, including the demolition of the columns supporting the roof and the suspension of the ceiling over the second floor on prestressed steel tendons. In order to ensure the required height of the rooms in the ground floor, the elevation of the foundation of the floor -1 was lowered. At this level, for the needs of the Institute of Psychology of the Jagiellonian University, acoustically insulated reinforced concrete research cabins were built. In the course of the works, the roof and façade were also renovated with the replacement of window joinery, and the electrical and sanitary networks in the land development were modified.
