Work is underway on the suburban section of the S7 expressway, from the Modlin junction to the Czosnów junction. The progress of works is currently approx. 70%. The investment is being implemented in accordance with the assumptions, and its completion is planned for the second half of next year.
On the S7 route, from the Modlin junction to the Czosnów junction, on a section of 9.7 km, car traffic takes place on one newly built roadway with two lanes in the direction of Warsaw and two lanes in the direction of Gdańsk. On the other hand, earthworks, surface, construction and industry works are underway on the second roadway. In addition, bridge engineering structures are being implemented in the amount of 13 pcs. including the modernization of the bridge over the Rz. Vistula river. Work is also underway on road junctions and accompanying roads that are not the main route of the S7 route.
” The construction of the S7 Modlin – Czosnów section is progressing as planned, and our team is working intensively to complete the key stages of construction. We are already at an advanced stage of the main works on the main route of the S7 route and the construction of accompanying infrastructure. This is an extremely important investment that will significantly improve traffic on the Warsaw-Gdańsk route, improving not only capacity, but also the safety of travellers ,” says Piotr Lewicki, Contract Director at Budimex SA.
The S7 expressway on this section (Modlin – Czosnów) will have two roadways, and each of them will have three lanes in each direction plus emergency lanes. Under the contract, Budimex, as the general contractor, is responsible, among other things, for the construction of a new road and connections for local traffic, the construction of viaducts and infrastructure along the road – including noise barriers, pedestrian tunnels, a bicycle path and animal crossings. The company is also expanding two existing road junctions: Modlin and Nowy Dwór Mazowiecki.
The contract is carried out in the “design and build” formula, according to which the general contractor is responsible for preparing the construction design and obtaining the necessary decisions. The contract value is PLN 598.8 million.
