At the TRAKO 2025 International Railway Fair in Gdańsk, Budimex showed some of the new railway equipment, had its stand in the main hall of the fair, was awarded a green certificate for the purchase of green traction energy, took part in debates on the construction of high-speed railways and was a partner of the fair gala, which was attended by 1200 exhibitors and guests.
TRAKO Railway Fair is the largest trade fair for the railway industry in Europe, next to Innotrans in Berlin. This year, Budimex was involved in the organization of this event in a special way.
On the exhibition tracks, the largest Polish general contractor showed the Plasser Catenary Crafter 12.5 network train and a new device for short-circuit tests for power works. Budimex was also awarded the PGE Energetyka green certificate for the purchase of over 1000 Mgwh of green traction energy. This purchase reduced emissions to the environment by over 600 tonnes of CO2. Budimex was also the main partner of the TRAKO 2025 Gala, during which the main trade fair and industry awards are presented. Artur Popko, President of Budimex – who was present at the fair, drew attention to the role of the railway industry in the development of the economy.
“Railways are a competence industry. Poland has a strong engineering, execution and service base, capable of carrying out the most demanding projects – from the modernization of nodes to the construction of tunnels and traffic control systems. This potential works not only for the country, but also internationally. A good example is Rail Baltica – a corridor connecting Warsaw with Tallinn via Kaunas and Riga, including us in the European transport network and building a new axis of economic cooperation in the region,” said the President of Budimex during the Fair.
Budimex’s involvement in the organization of the Polish railway fair was also noticed by the organizers.
“The presence of Budimex as a Gala Partner is an expression of the company’s commitment to the development of the railway sector and active participation in shaping the future of rail transport. We are glad that we can cooperate with a company that has been setting standards of quality and modernity in infrastructure construction for years” – emphasized the organizers of the fair in their statement.
Budimex also took part in the debate on Polish’s readiness to implement the High-Speed Rail Programme. During the meeting, Maciej Olek – Member of the Management Board of Budimex – took the floor. In his opinion, Polish companies can carry out the construction of high-speed lines at a fastpace. “By building the lines in greenfield, we will be able to apply engineering solutions that significantly speed up construction. Polish industry and contractors will be able to cope with the construction of high-speed railway lines. The Polish railway is the largest construction site in Europe. We have the competences, equipment and people. We have built a new Warszawa Zachodnia station with a traffic of 800 trains a day. That is why it is obvious to us,” said Maciej Olek during the debate.
Budimex will also be present at TRAKO during career education days dedicated to students and pupils with its offer of internships, internships and recruitment.
