Budimex conducts its business in accordance with the highest environmental and social standards, for which it has been recognised as the Leader of Sustainable Construction. More and more buildings developed by the company have LEED and BREEAM sustainable building certificates. Since 2015, the share of recovered materials in the total use of building materials has quadrupled (from 2% to 8%).

As part of the new CSR strategy, the company will increase the share of energy from renewable sources in total purchased energy to 50% in 2023 (37% in 2020). During the construction projects, water consumption is also minimized by recovering steam water, so that in the following years the percentage of waste in the construction catchment area is higher and in 2023 the target is 10%.

Budimex supports innovative solutions such as powerbanks replacing diesel power generators. Instagrid’s portable batteries provide power to construction equipment such as drills or welders. Their biggest advantage is the fact that they do not produce exhaust fumes, noise and vibrations, and do not pollute the air. Another innovative solution is cooperation with LOTOS Asfalt in the production of a mixture of road surfaces with the scent of flowers. The active compounds it contains act as an odor neutralizer, reducing the volatility of the odor-causing substance found in traditional asphalt.
