Budimex is nearing the finalisation of two key renewable energy projects – the Kamelia and Azalia photovoltaic farms. Both projects, implemented as part of the strategy of diversification of the Budimex Group’s operations, are a significant step towards the energy transition in Poland and strengthen the company’s position in the green energy sector.

The Kamelia photovoltaic farm, located in Wymysłów in the municipality of Mszczonów (Mazowieckie Voivodeship), is at the final stage of construction works. The project, launched in February 2023, includes the installation of 33,870 panels with a capacity of 620 watts each, spread over an area of 180,000 m². The total installed capacity of the panels is 21 MW, of which 14 MW is already ready for operation. All works are expected to be completed in March 2025, and the launch of energy production and sales is expected in June of the same year. The design is distinguished by an unusual east-west layout, which allows for more even use of solar radiation throughout the day.

At the same time, advanced work is underway on the Azalia farm in Wysoka Głogowska, near Rzeszów (Podkarpackie Voivodeship). This one of the largest photovoltaic investments under construction  in Poland will reach a capacity of 60 MW, which is enough to power over 25 thousand households. 100 thousand panels will be installed in the area of the farm, and annual energy production is estimated at about 65 GWh. Implementation of the project began in May 2024 and its completion is scheduled for mid-2025.

Budimex, as a leader in the construction industry, is constantly looking for new areas of development. We are developing the renewable energy segment to actively participate in the country’s energy transition. For us, the Kamelia Farm is not only an investment in the future, but also a tool for meeting the energy needs of the Budimex Group ,” emphasizes Tomasz Grzęda, Member of the Management Board of BXF Energia, a company belonging to the Budimex Group. – BXF Energia, as a joint-venture of Budimex and Spain’s Ferrovial, is part of our strategy of diversification and expansion of our business
about the segment of green energy production
,” adds Tomasz Grzęda.

The Budimex Group, through BXF Energia, plans to achieve a total of 80 MW of green energy production capacity in 2025, satisfying both the Budimex Group’s internal needs and external customers. The Kamellia and Azalia farms are an example of sustainable development and proof of the company’s commitment to the development of local energy infrastructure and the promotion of renewable energy sources.
