The construction of the S19 expressway on the Haćki – Bielsk Podlaski Zachód section is progressing according to schedule. At the end of May 2025, the progress of works on this 9-km section reached 80%. As part of the task, roundabouts and engineering structures are being built, including seven viaducts, seven ecological culverts and two animal crossings.
Budimex is implementing a key section of the future Via Carpatia route, including the construction of a 9-kilometre section of the S19 expressway and 2.16 km of national road No. 66. The project also involves the construction of the “Bielsk Podlaski Północ” Junction, the “Bielsk Podlaski Zachód” Junction with two medium roundabouts and a four-entry roundabout connecting the designed relocation of DK66 with the existing national road 66.
” We maintain a high pace of work and consistently implement the next stages of the investment. The construction of the S19 expressway in Podlasie is a strategic project both from the point of view of local communities and the entire transport infrastructure of Poland ,” says Robert Gromala, Contract Director at Budimex SA.
As part of the task, m.in foundations and supports for bridge structures were made, as well as a significant part of earthworks, the scope of which exceeded 1 million m³. An important stage of the reconstruction of the underground infrastructure, including water, gas and energy networks, has also been completed. The entire project provides for the use of 175 thousand tons of bituminous mass.
The gross value of the contract is approx. PLN 326 million. The S19 route, as part of the international Via Carpatia corridor, will be one of the most important communication routes in Europe, connecting the North and South of the continent. It is to be 570 km long and will run from the border crossing with Belarus in Kuźnica Białostocka to the border with Slovakia in Barwinek.
