According to the contract, Budimex obtained a fault-free final acceptance of the construction of 32.5 km of high-pressure gas pipeline. The investment is located on the section from the Czeszów Shut-Off and Relief Complex to the Kiełczów junction. The contract was implemented as part of the construction of the Polish border (Lasów) – Taczalin – Radakowice – Gałów – Wierzchowice gas pipeline together with the infrastructure necessary to operate it. The total value of the project is over PLN 63 million.
Budimex has built a 32.5 km gas pipeline located in two municipalities: Zawonia and Długołęka, located in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship. The investor is Gas Transmission Operator GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. Budimex has once again proved to be a reliable contractor, characterized by the highest quality of workmanship, as the construction was completed within the deadline specified in the contract, and also obtained a fault-free final acceptance. ” We are all the more proud to have achieved a faultless offtake, because the investor is a strategic company for the Polish economy, responsible for the transmission of natural gas and the management of the most important gas pipelines in Poland ,” says Dariusz Blocher, President of the Management Board of Budimex S.A.
Comprehensive construction of the gas pipeline
The contract also included the construction of shut-off and relief systems, access roads and new power connections for the facilities. – The construction of the gas pipeline was a major technical and organizational challenge, because the investment was carried out in an area covered by the Natura 2000 program, so we had to not only take care of the quality and timeliness of the work, but also the protection of valuable natural areas. For this purpose, we used, for example, HDD directional drilling technology – says Dariusz Blocher. Despite this, the team implementing the investment completed it within the contractual deadline. The gas pipeline has been filled, commissioned, commissioned and operational and has obtained operating permits.
An important investment for Polish
The construction of the Czeszów-Kiełczów gas pipeline is an important element in strengthening Polish’s energy security. Together with the other gas pipelines that will be built in Lower Silesia, the new section with the highest operating parameters will enable the transmission of increased volumes of gas in the transmission system and will be part of the North-South corridor. The importance of this investment is evidenced by the fact that the European Commission has granted it the status of a “Project of Common Interest”.
Budimex builds for the energy and industrial sector
The Czeszów-Kiełczów gas pipeline is not the first implementation of an energy and industrial contract for Budimex. In addition to many projects in the waste sector and environmental protection, since 2014 the company has also been building a power unit in the Turów Power Plant in a consortium. The contract includes the design, construction and commissioning of a 450 MW power plant, as well as staff training at PGE Górnictwo i Energetyka Konwencjonalna S.A., Turów Power Plant Branch. The construction is to be completed in 2020, and its total value is over PLN 3.5 billion.
