The tram investment in Dolny Mokotów completed by Budimex has been officially put into operation. The new branch of the tram route to Wilanów, leading along St. Bonifacy Street to the Stegny terminus, is served by tram line No. 19.

As a result, the residents of Stegien and Sadyba have gained a quick connection to the Central Railway Station and the tram line to Wilanów, which was put into operation in autumn 2024, m.in new section.  The new section is about 800 meters long and significantly improves the transport accessibility of Dolny Mokotów. At the intersection of Jana III Sobieskiego and St. Bonifacy Streets, a modern, full junction was built, enabling flexible organization of tram traffic. The trackbed was laid in a separate strip between the roadways and – in accordance with pro-ecological standards – covered with sedum for a considerable length.

In order for the tram to run, over 2000 meters of overhead contact lines were laid over such a short distance and over 1400 meters of casing pipes were installed. Budimex also completed over 6000 m2 of concrete substructure for rails and 11 turnouts. 2853 m2 of sedum was laid. Budimex has also erected 54 overhead contact line poles.

The culmination of the new branch is the modern, double-track tram and bus terminus of Stegny, located at the Raoul Wallenberg Primary School and the Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary Mother of Mercy. As part of the investment, common tram and bus stops and comfortable parking spaces have been designed, which will facilitate transfers and improve the daily travel of residents of this part of the capital.

The construction of this branch was part of a larger tram project to Wilanów – one of the largest transport investments in Warsaw in recent years. The construction of the section to Stegny by Budimex was carried out according to schedule.
