Budimex, in cooperation with the Celestynów Forest District, carried out another tree planting campaign, as part of which 6000 pine seedlings were planted in the vicinity of Otwock. This is the next stage of the company’s long-term efforts to increase biodiversity and strengthen local ecosystems.

About 40 people took part in this year’s tree planting campaign, which took place on April 27. These were employees of Budimex, FBSerwis and Mostostal Kraków. Planting together had not only an environmental dimension, but also an integrative and educational one.

Before the start of the work, the participants took part in a training conducted by the employees of the Celestynów Forest District. The foresters presented the principles of sustainable forest management and discussed the principles of safety and proper tree planting technique. Then the volunteers, divided into pairs, began field work – one person made a hole in the soil using a staff, and the other placed a seedling in it.

After the planting of trees, the participants visited the Forest Education Center, where a summary meeting was held over a common meal.

For us, each initiative of this type is more than just an environmental activity. It is a real investment in the future of local ecosystems, but also an opportunity to educate and cooperate with experts from forest districts. Joint plantings in the Celestynów Forest District are another example of our activities, in which we combine the implementation of investments with real support for the environment and local ecosystems emphasizes Wioletta Roguska, ESG Director at Budimex.

As part of the long-term cooperation with the Celestynów Forest District, the total number of trees planted by Budimex is already over 24,300. The company is consistently developing its ESG activities, combining the implementation of infrastructure investments with projects supporting the natural environment and local communities.
