On 2 August, Budimex signed a contract with the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways for the construction of the Ciepielów bypass in the design and build formula. The 1.6 km long section will be built in the second quarter of 2027, and the total cost of the investment is PLN 109 million net. The project is part of the expansion of the section of national road number 79, leading from Warsaw to Sandomierz.
The contract signed today includes not only the extension of the existing section of DK-79, but also the accompanying technical infrastructure and traffic safety equipment. The scope of work includes the design and construction of engineering structures, construction of environmental protection devices, road lighting, sidewalks and bicycle paths, bus bays and lighting.
Scope of works:
- Construction of the main roadway and 3 service roadways serving the adjacent area
- Reconstruction of three intersections
- Culvert construction
- Construction of sidewalks and bicycle paths
- Construction of road drainage
- Reconstruction of the water supply system
- Construction of road lighting
- Reconstruction of power grids
- Reconstruction of telecommunication networks
Budimex has extensive experience in the construction of infrastructure investments. On August 19, 2022, two months before the contract deadline, the company commissioned the Smolajny bypass, which is part of national road No. 51. It was the first completed bypass implemented as part of the government’s Program for the construction of 100 bypasses for 2020-2030.
As part of the Programme, one hundred bypasses will be built on the national road network with a total length of approx. 830 km. The routes are adapted to the load of 11.5 t/axle, and a total of PLN 28 billion has been allocated to them financed from the state budget. Budimex, as the general contractor, is currently implementing several bypasses under this Programme.
