Budimex S.A. will build a modern ward on the premises of the University Clinical Hospital and the University Children’s Clinical Hospital im. L. Zamenhoff. The planned completion date of the works is May 2022.
To sign the contract for the construction of the Psychiatry Center at ul. M. Skłodowska-Curie in Białystok, took place on March 24 this year. The Medical University has entrusted the implementation of the investment worth over PLN 28.7 million to Budimex. The project will be carried out in the “design and build” system. The company will be responsible for: preparation of design documentation, obtaining building and occupancy permits for the resulting investment and execution works. “We are glad that once again we have been trusted by the University Clinical Hospital in Białystok. This is a great success for us, but also a challenge. Similarly to the construction of clinical wards carried out by us in 2011-2018, in the current project we will use the knowledge and experience that we believe will again be a source of satisfactory effect for both parties,” says Dariusz Blocher, President of the Management Board, CEO of Budimex SA.
Space for everyone
The total area of the building will take approx. 5080 m², of which approx. 3846 m² will be the usable area. The facility with a cubic capacity of approx. 12,900 m³ will accommodate patients of all ages. There will be 76 beds available in the ward: 40 for adults and 36 for children and adolescents. The ward will also be equipped with facilities for the disabled, including two internal elevators, enabling efficient communication within the facility.
Three-level design
In the design similar to the inverted letter D, an internal patio was separated. The ward will cover four floors, including 3 above-ground and 1 underground. The design of the Psychiatry Centre includes the construction of two main entrances – to the Adult Psychiatry Clinic on the north side, and to the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Clinic on the south side. In addition, two ramps will be built for ambulances.

He has built the University Clinical Hospital in Białystok, the Medical Biology Center in Poznań, and expanded the University Hospital in Bydgoszcz. For the completed design of the didactic facility – the Pharmacy of the Medical University of Lublin, the leader of the construction industry was awarded the “Golden Trowel”.
