Budimex, together with the We Are Together – We Help Foundation, has so far supported more than 20 hospitals across Poland financially and materially in the fight against COVID-19. The general contractor in the construction industry has also extended this aid to nursing homes and municipalities. The total amount that the Budimex Group will allocate to the fight against the coronavirus is nearly PLN 3 million. Ten more facilities will receive support in the coming weeks.
In May alone, the Budimex Group allocated nearly half a million zlotys to help hospitals and institutions that suffered as a result of the pandemic. Financial support was provided to another seven hospitals, two nursing homes and three municipalities where the Group companies conduct their activities: construction (Budimex SA and Mostostal Kraków), development (Budimex Nieruchomości) and services (FB Serwis).
The largest aid was received by hospitals in the following voivodeships: Mazowieckie, Łódzkie and Dolnośląskie. In these regions, there was the fastest increase in the number of sick people. Now we are focusing on supporting hospitals and nursing homes, especially where the number of patients is growing the fastest at the moment,” he says Dariusz Blocher – President of Budimex SA. Budimex also actively supports the activities of the “We are together. WE ARE HELPING”. It all started with the campaign of the same name, initiated by Polish entrepreneurs at the beginning of the pandemic. Then the companies joined forces to raise as much money as possible to help hospitals. A thriving foundation was born from a spontaneous initiative, which has so far collected nearly PLN 50 million. Help has already been provided to hospitals and nursing homes in: Kraków, Warsaw, Wałbrzych, Racibórz, Łódź, Puławy, Żyrardów, Sochaczew, Suwałki, Łańcut, Poznań, Sannik and Wrocław. The total amount that the Budimex Group will allocate to the fight against the coronavirus is nearly PLN 3 million. The company also helped with construction works in adapting two hospitals to receive coronavirus patients. It also provides in-kind aid in the form of masks, protective clothing and aseptic fluids.
