July 8, 2022 Slovak Národná diaľničná spoločnosť, a. s. The National Roads Administrator in Slovakia has selected the bid of Budimex S.A. as the most advantageous in the tender procedure for: the construction of the D1 Bratislava-Triblavina motorway with a length of 3.6 kilometers in the design and build formula.
This is the first contract won by Budimex in Slovakia since entering this market in 2021 and the third contract won abroad in the last year (Budimex had previously won two construction contracts in Germany). Outside the Polish market, Polish Budimex is also active in Lithuania, Germany and the Czech Republic in the field of energy, road and rail construction.
The purpose of the construction is to rebuild the motorway and other related facilities. This means the full expansion of the D1 motorway, including the replacement of the road structure from Vajnor to the Triblavina junction and the provision of a transport link between the D1 and D4 motorways. The construction will include the construction of intersection collectors from the Vajnory intersection to the Ivanka interchange, coordination with the D4 motorway and replacement of the roadway in the MÚK Triblavina area, as well as the completion of the IT system. Coordination with the D4 motorway means coordination with the already built fragments of the Ivanka Sever D4 junction, which will require modification in terms of the construction of detours, and the completion of some of the D4 motorway facilities leading under the D1, including obtaining the necessary permits.
The implementation of the task in question must take place while ensuring appropriate constant traffic continuity. The investment includes the construction of 19 engineering structures, of which the two longest structures are located at the junction crossing the motorway, each 138 meters long. The value of the offer is EUR 110 million 850 thousand net. Budimex will start design work immediately after signing the contract. Budimex will have 3 years from the signing of the contract to carry out the works. The road will be covered by a 5-year warranty.
