Budimex will build the Gniezno bypass

On 3 December 2014, a consortium of Budimex (leader, 95 per cent of shares) and Ferrovial Agroman (5 per cent of shares) signed a contract with the Poznań Branch of the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways for the construction of an 18.3-kilometre section of the S5 Żnin – Gniezno expressway (Gniezno bypass).

The contract value is PLN 387.3 million net.

The scope of work includes the construction of:

  • 18.3-kilometre section of the expressway,
  • three road junctions (Mieleszyn, Gniezno Północ and Kłecko),
  • 19 engineering structures (4 bridges and 5 viaducts along the S5 road, 9 viaducts over the S5 road, one animal crossing),
  • 2 Motorway Service Areas (Modliszewko Wschodnie and Modliszewko Zachodnie),
  • access roads,
  • traffic safety devices, lighting and road drainage.

The investment is to be completed within 22 months from the date of signing the contract (excluding winter periods from 15 December to 15 March).
