Budimex has signed a contract with the Łódź branch of the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways for the design and construction of the Srock bypass, along national road No. 12 leading from the Tuszyn junction on the A1 motorway to Piotrków Trybunalski. This is the first investment in the Łódź Voivodeship as part of the government’s Programme for the construction of 100 bypasses. The contract was concluded on March 7, 2025.

The Srock bypass will lead traffic outside the centre of the village, running from the west, along the national road No. 12. Its length will be 3.7 km, and the road will be classified as GP (main accelerated traffic), allowing the passage of vehicles with a load of 11.5 tons per axle. Budimex, as the general contractor, will complete the investment within 34 months from the date of signing the contract.

The new route will contribute to the improvement of safety and quality of life of residents, as it will allow for a significant reduction in traffic in the centre of the village. The bypass will have  one roadway with two lanes, each of which will be 3.5 m wide. Due to our vast and many years of experience, we are ready to perform the work effectively and on time,” said Maciej Staniaszek, contract manager at Budimex SA.

The new road will relieve Srock and significantly improve the safety and comfort of life of its residents, redirecting passenger traffic and freight transport to the bypass. It will also improve the transport system of the region, m.in. by enabling more convenient access to the A1 motorway.

The gross value of the contract is nearly PLN 82 million, and its completion is planned for the turn of 2027 and 2028.
