Budimex will strengthen the seashore in Darłowo

The works will begin within three days of signing the contract. The deadline for the implementation of the investment was set for the end of May 2013.

The section of the seashore that will be strengthened is located within the boundaries of Darłowo, east of the port, and is 8.2 km long.

The scope of contract work includes the following tasks:

  • Construction of an 830 m long storm embankment, on which an inspection road will be built (made of prefabricated road slabs). From the side of the sea and Lake Kopań, the embankment will be secured with filter feet, and additionally from the sea side reinforced with riprap.
  • Demolition of the existing breakwaters and construction of new ones with a length of 1.3 km located at a distance of 100-120 m from the shoreline. The total area of the building is approx. 26 thousand 600 sq. m. The breakwaters will be additionally reinforced with three rows of star blocks.
  • Execution for approx. a 7-kilometre section of shore groynes made of wooden piles driven into the bottom at a distance of 110 m into the sea.
  • Sapper works – searching the area, extraction and disposal of hazardous materials.

This is another contract from Budimex for the strengthening of the quay. 15 July this year. the company signed a contract worth PLN 26.1 million net for the expansion of port infrastructure in the northern part of the Ewa Peninsula in the port of Szczecin.
