Budimex SA has signed a contract with the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways for the design and construction of a section of the S11 expressway with a length of nearly 18 kilometres. The signed contract with a net value of PLN 478.23 million includes comprehensive design and execution works on the Ostrzeszów Północ – Kępno section.

The new section of the S11 will be a natural continuation of the existing sections of the route, starting from the Ostrzeszów Północ junction, with access to provincial roads No. 444 and 449 and national road No. 11. The route, bypassing Ostrzeszów from the west, will be included in the existing road network in the area of Kępno. Entry to the planned road will be possible through three junctions: Ostrzeszów Północ, Ostrzeszów Południe and Kępno Północ. The construction of 16 engineering structures is planned along the entire route. The expressway will be built in a dual carriageway standard, with two lanes in each direction, an emergency lane and a reserve of land for possible future expansion to three lanes. The contract provides that drivers will be able to use the new section as early as the first half of 2029.

” The implementation of this section of the S11 is not only an engineering challenge, but also a great social responsibility – we are creating a route that will improve the safety and comfort of life of the region’s residents. We attach great importance to minimizing the impact of the investment on the environment and local communities, which is why the project assumes extensive infrastructure for pedestrians, cyclists and wild animals. It will be a modern road in the full sense of the word,” emphasizes Cezary Łysenko, Member of the Management Board, Operational Director of Infrastructure and General Construction at Budimex SA.

The scope of the investment provides for the reconstruction of existing roads at the intersection of their route with the expressway, the construction of sections of local roads and the necessary infrastructure for pedestrians and cyclists. Out of concern for the natural environment, the construction of crossings for large and medium-sized animals at bridges and over 30 crossings for small animals and amphibians is planned. In addition, the project involves the construction of acoustic screens and retention and retention-infiltration reservoirs.

According to the contract, the completion date of the works is 39 months from the date of signing the contract (excluding winter periods). The warranty period reaches up to 15 years, while the warranty will be valid for 60 months from the date of acceptance of the design by the ordering party.
