Budimex with a contract for the construction of the S7 Modlin-Czosnów expressway in the province of S7 Mazowieckie

12 May this year Budimex has signed a contract with the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways in Warsaw for the construction of the S7 expressway on the Modlin-Czosnów section in the Mazowieckie Voivodeship. The works will include the construction of an expressway with a length of approx. 10 km and 20 km of service roads.

Three lanes in each direction

Under the contract, Budimex will be responsible for preparing the construction design, obtaining the necessary decisions, and then constructing a 9.7 km long section of the S7 expressway with a dual carriageway cross-section with three lanes in each direction.

The whole team is ready, we are starting design work for which we have the next 10 months. Our experience and competences gained also on the construction of the A1 between Tuszyn and Piotrków allow us to think with optimism: we will complete the project before the contract deadline. Construction works will be carried out under car traffic. It will be a demanding construction because we plan to keep both roadways under car traffic, but the period from 2021 to 2023 will certainly require patience from drivers. Modlin-Czosnów is the third section of works as part of the adaptation of DK7 to the parameters of the expressway on the Płońsk-Czosnów section. Ultimately, the S7 expressway will have 3 lanes in each direction. The contractor will take care of m.in. widening of the existing road, construction of junctions and connections for local traffic between the junctions, construction of bridges along the future S7 and viaducts within and over the expressway, as well as expansion of two existing road junctions: Modlin and Błonie. The investment will also  include acoustic screens and animal crossings.

Comfort of travelers

Budimex will also take care of the functionality of the infrastructure not only for those travelling by car. The bridge over the Vistula River in Zakroczym will gain a sidewalk and a bicycle path In addition, m.in will be built. a service area and pedestrian tunnels. The contractual deadline for the completion of the works is May 2023, and the value of the investment is PLN 486,827,545.00 net.

The construction of the S7 on the Modlin-Czosnów section is another road infrastructure project carried out by Budimex. Budimex is also constructing sections of the S19 Via Carpatia in the Province of S19. Podkarpackie, the S6 Kashubian Route in the province of Pomorskie and Via Baltica S61 in the Voivodeship. Podlaskie. The company also currently operates m.in. works on the construction of the Wałbrzych bypass in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship. In addition, in April this year. Budimex has also signed  two contracts: for the construction of the S5 expressway in the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivodeship and the S5 expressway in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship.
