Construction of a temporary hospital in Białystok completed ahead of schedule

Ahead of schedule, Budimex completed assembly works for the needs of the temporary hospital in Białystok with nearly 100 beds. On 25 November, the Final Acceptance Protocol for Works was signed for the adaptation of the premises of the Sports Hall building of the Medical University of Bialystok in order to implement measures to counteract COVID-19.

The reception was faultless. Budimex signed a contract for the implementation of the project with the Podlaskie Voivode on 6 November 2020. The implementation of the task consisted in the reconstruction and adaptation of the rooms of the sports hall building and included m.in:

  • execution in a sports hall with an area of 970 m2 80 1-bed boxes in the agreed technology of plasterboard partitions, including 2 ventilators,
  • Bringing the necessary m.in installations to each box and separate rooms of the hall. additional medical oxygen installation, call system and CCTV monitoring system,
  • change of the layout of the rooms and reconstruction of the facilities of the sports hall with an area of 100 sq. m. 430 m2 with the division of the building into separate clean and dirty zones, along with the necessary modifications to electrical, teletechnical and water and sewage installations.

Over a dozen subcontractors were involved in the investment and a total of over 80 employees throughout the entire implementation period. The works were carried out without time limitation in shifts 7 days a week. Financing of the implementation of the project from the COVID-19 Prevention Fund. In addition, Budimex is involved in the construction of temporary hospitals in Sopot (work is underway) and in Tarnów (the contract is being negotiated).
