At the Children’s Ward of the Provincial Specialist Hospital, the 38. Parent Zone. In this edition, two spaces on two different floors of the ward have been adapted. In the renovated rooms, educational rooms have been created, in which teachers from the Spa School Complex in Ciechocinek will conduct classes for children.
“Parent Zone. Budimex for Children” is a nationwide project run and fully financed by Budimex SA. Its aim is to create special places in children’s wards of Polish hospitals, where young patients can spend time with their parents and discover the world through play. Providing children with such colorful and friendly spaces improves their comfort and speeds up the recovery process.
In the Włocławek hospital, Budimex has arranged as many as two common rooms, located on different floors of the building. The inspiration for the arrangement of the first room was the calming greenery of the local forests, enriched with graphic motifs referring to the local fauna and flora. The décor of the second common room will allow the youngest to feel like they are on safari – in the space filled with warm colors, children will see images of African animals.
The new day-care centres have been equipped with the needs of children of different ages in mind. They will be available to preschoolers, children attending school, as well as high school youth. The rooms will be used for school lessons for older children, as well as games and activities for the youngest.

“The Parent Zone in Włocławek is special for us – we always try to leave something good for the local communities living in the vicinity of our contracts. We are all the more pleased to return to the place we have recently completed to support its youngest patients and enable them to recover faster. We are glad that the rooms we have created will be used for classes for school-age children and animations for the youngest patients. Thanks to lessons with teachers, students staying in the hospital will be able to be up to date with the material that is taught at school by their peers in the usual way” – says Aldona Orłowski, Director of the Recruitment, Development and Communication Office at Budimex.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic and out of concern for the safety of patients, staff and journalists, the transfer of the 38. Hospital Zone was held remotely. For the same reason, local Budimex Volunteers could not be present before the finale and provide support during the last finishing works. However, they found another way to add a brick – they equipped the 38. The Parent Zone with audio equipment that will be designed to play relaxing music for children, as well as small cars on springs for the youngest beneficiaries of the Zone.
