Impact of the COVID-19 coronavirus epidemic on Budimex’s operations

At the moment, the problems related to the coronavirus – as a force majeure event – have a low impact on Budimex’s operations and the performance of construction contracts.

The development of the disease in the coming weeks may affect access to some employees, both own and subcontractors, and thus slow down the work. In the short term, we expect the interruption of the foreign supply chain on several percent of our construction sites and a reduction in the availability of employees – mainly subcontractors and from abroad.

The current situation, along with negative development, may affect the timeliness of construction projects, about which we keep our customers informed. If the current state of affairs persists in the long term, it will have a negative impact on all construction sites carried out by Budimex and the pace of construction production in Poland.

Remote building does not exist. It requires the involvement of people, equipment and materials. That is why we focus on activities that ensure the safety of employees and, at the same time, the uninterrupted implementation of all construction contracts. Budimex has a crisis management team. We have already implemented preventive measures more than two weeks ago. We modify the organization of work.

The Management Board and the Group’s management monitor the epidemiological and legal situation on an ongoing basis and if there is a need to change the procedure, decisions are made immediately.
