Budimex is currently implementing the first of the planned two stages of the construction of a new production building and installations for a new freeze-drying department, Highly Potent drug production and a B+R laboratory with equipment commissioned by the Investor – TZF Polfa S.A.  in Tarchomin. The facility will have three main purposes, i.e.: production of sterile molds and research and development (R&D) and quality control (KJ) laboratories. This investment is being implemented in BIM technology.  The completion date of the works carried out by Budimex (stage I – open shell of the building) is planned for the end of April 2022.

The Centre for Research, Development and Production of Sterile Moulds is the largest and most important investment of Tarchomin Pharmaceutical Works “Polfa” SA.

Tarchomińskie Zakłady Farmaceutyczne Polfa is building a factory for sterile forms, including highly toxic drugs, the so-called highly potent. This is a unique investment on a national and European scale, as the nearest factory of this type is located in Switzerland or Austria. The specificity of the facility in terms of drug production is that two independent production lines will be built, supported by R&D (Research & Development)  and laboratories. In addition, an office part will be built – says Robert Chabros, Project Manager of TZF Polfa SA.

The construction works carried out by Budimex for the first stage of the facility’s construction are currently at the stage of constructing a reinforced concrete structure along with  earthworks.

At the moment, we are making floors on three different levels. The building has three floors above ground and one underground, it has 75 thousand. cubic meters of cubic capacity and 12 thousand. square meters of usable space. The biggest engineering challenge in this investment was to lower the water table below six meters in order to be able to construct underground storeys – says Paweł Wróblewski, Contract Manager at Budimex SA.

About a hundred people and seven equipment units are currently working on the construction site. These are mainly tower cranes, mobile crane and backhoe loaders. The investment is implemented in BIM (Building Information Modeling) technology, which enables control and editing of the design, construction and operation of the facility in virtual space.  The value of the works carried out by Budimex is PLN 19 million.

Earlier, on June 22, 2021. The ceremony of laying the foundation stone for the construction of the facility took place, in which m.in took part. President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda.
