“The contract is implemented in the Design Build system, where the Contractor is responsible for the development of Detailed Designs. The Contractor has submitted detailed designs, which are currently being checked and verified by  the Supervision staff and the Investor.  We do not have a calendar winter in Ełk yet, and last week the temperatures dropped to minus 12 degrees Celsius,” says Mikołaj Waśnieswski, Contract Director on behalf of Budimex.

“The winter period, which may slow down or prevent the performance of some of the works, will be used in 100% to prepare all the details of the works, including the implementation schedule and phasing of works for the entire two-year duration of the contract, so that when PKP PLK obtains the Building Permit and the weather conditions are favourable, the works can start in full swing in 100%”  – adds Mikołaj Waśniewski.

The contract in the design and build system for the modernization of the Ełk station was signed on August 26, 2021. The deadline for the order is 28 months. The warranty period is 5 years. After the Czechowice Dziedzice station and the Warszawa Zachodnia station, the Ełk junction is another one being implemented by Budimex SA. This year, Budimex completed the modernisation of the Warsaw-Lublin railway line. In addition to these investments, the company also carries out railway contracts in Gdynia and on the E30 and E59 lines in Silesia in the Greater Poland Voivodeship.
