The PKP S.A. temporary station in Białystok is already operational

Budimex – the general contractor for the modernisation of the PKP S.A. station in Białystok has commissioned a temporary station, which is located in the immediate vicinity of the old station. The facility has an area of 170 m2. It is heated and air-conditioned. It is also adapted to PRM people. There are four ticket offices of railway carriers, the Railway Protection Guard, catering machines and toilets. Directional markings for the temporary station and passenger passages are currently being adapted to the needs of users. The transfer of passenger service to the temporary station will enable the commencement of construction works in the main station building.

Construction works at the PKP S.A. railway station in Białystok began in November this year. The investment will be completed in the first quarter of 2020. Budimex will cooperate with a large number of local subcontractors in the scope of this contract. The area of the main station is 2965.75 m2, while the cubic capacity is 23080.00 m3. The net value of the contract is PLN 29,470,000.00 million.

Budimex was the general contractor of m.in. modernization of another famous historic railway station in Wrocław and Przemyśl. They were successfully rebuilt and modernized by the largest Polish general contractor in the years 2010-2012.
