On 23-25 November 2018, a pressure test of the boiler of the new power unit was carried out at the Turów Power Plant. The actual boiler with the primary superheat system and the secondary superheat system were tested. Both attempts were successful. This is a significant step in the implementation of this investment task carried out m.in. by Budimex.

The investment in the Turów Power Plant, owned by PGE, worth over PLN 3.5 billion net, is being carried out by a consortium of Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems Europe, Budimex and Tecnicas Reunidas. The new power unit will have a capacity of 450 MW and will meet all the environmental requirements of the BAT conclusions for large power facilities. The unit is scheduled to be commissioned in 2020.

The contract is now entering the most important phase of completion of assembly work and commissioning, currently almost 2,000 people are employed on the construction site.

The contract in Turów is a key energy contract for Budimex. Budimex’s share in the implementation of this task is  22.5%. Despite the difficulties with large price increases and limited resources of subcontractors – on the entire market in Poland – the commissioning of the unit will take place in 2020 as planned.
