Take-off area Szymany Airport
The investment included the construction of a landing area, i.e. the construction of a runway, taxiway, apron for planes and helicopters, a technical and fire road, parking areas for airport maintenance equipment, navigation lighting and the power grid. As part of the contract, a guardhouse building was also built.
What is more, as part of the investment, the design and construction of the ILS/DME (ILS – Instrument Landing System, DME – Distance measuring equipment) ground navigation aid was developed at the Airport. It is a technical equipment that allows for safe take-offs and landings of machines, i.e. a guidance system for aircraft landing in difficult weather conditions.
