The modernization of LK7 railway line connecting Warsaw with Lublin for PKP PLK is the largest railway investment from the National Railway Program for 2015-2020, worth PLN 1.5 billion. Budimex was responsible for works on three sections of the route: from Otwock to Pilawa, Pilawa to Dęblin and Dęblin to Nałęczów, which accounted for a total of 70 percent of the entire investment with a length of 122 km. For the modernisation of Railway Line No. 7 from Otwock to Nałęczów, Budimex won the TOP Builder award, one of the most prestigious awards on the Polish construction market.

On the Pilawa-Dęblin section, Budimex rebuilt tracks No. 1 and 2 on the Garwolin – Dęblin route and the largest station on the modernised section – Dęblin. The total length of the modernized section of line No. 7 is about 52 km. The scope of Budimex’s work also included the reconstruction of 120 km of tracks with subgrade and drainage, the reconstruction and construction of new platform infrastructure adapted for the disabled at the following stations: Garwolin, Łaskarzew Towarowy, Sobolew, Życzyn and Dęblin, and the construction of 106 new turnouts. The project also included a comprehensive reconstruction of the overhead contact line, reconstruction of the railway power network and equipment, and modernization of 17 railway crossings. 53 engineering structures were also built (17 bridges, 2 viaducts, 30 culverts and 4 passages under the tracks) and the largest railway bridge on this project, at the Dęblin station, a three-span steel bridge with a length of 159.6 m.

On the Dęblin – Nałęczów section, Budimex commissioned 25 km of track with subgrade and drainage, the same amount of overhead contact line and 19 railway turnouts. Passengers will use 7 new platform edges with pedestrian access, drainage, lighting, shelters and small architecture. 7 railway crossings were built in the ballast-free technology, and 22 engineering structures were constructed.
