Rules of conduct for contractors of Budimex SA

At Budimex, we want to pursue ambitious business goals with partners who share our values. That is why in the Contractor Code we set expectations for the companies we work with in terms of the rule of law, ethics and human rights. Here are our rules:

Legal Compliance

The business and professional activity of the Contractor is carried out in strict accordance with the law applicable in all places of its operation.

Ethical integrity

The business and professional activity of the Contractor and its employees (and by “employees” we mean both persons performing work on the basis of an employment contract and on the basis of civil law contracts) is carried out with respect for integrity, in accordance with the principles of honesty, avoidance of all forms of corruption, as well as the conditions and needs of individual entities involved in it.

The Contractor promotes among its employees appreciation and respect for acting in accordance with these rules.

Respect for human rights

All activities of the Contractor and its employees are performed with respect for human rights and public freedoms contained in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

These basic principles translate into the following commitments:
Relations with and between employees
  • The Contractor takes responsibility for creating a work environment free from any kind of discrimination and behaviour characterized by any type of violence.
  • All employees are treated fairly and with respect by their superiors, subordinates and colleagues.
  • The Contractor provides its employees with a safe working environment and undertakes to constantly update the accident protection measures and strictly comply with the relevant regulations in all places where it operates.
  • All employees are responsible for strict compliance with occupational health and safety rules. They are also required to use the equipment assigned to them appropriately when carrying out hazardous work, to provide their colleagues and subordinates with knowledge of occupational safety and to encourage the use of appropriate safety measures.
  • The Contractor does not allow or use the work of minors, nor does it use any products and services derived from their work in its business activity. At the same time, it takes care of the fulfillment of the regulations of the International Labour Organization relating to minors.
