The reconstruction of Warszawa Zachodnia is one of the largest railway investments in recent years. The project is implemented thanks to the cooperation of four Budimex organisational units – two regions: DBK, DBO and Mostostal Kraków. As part of the contract, a passage with shops and restaurants is being built on two floors, and below there is a tunnel with stops for trams the size of a metro station. The task includes the construction of new platforms, adapted to the needs of people with reduced mobility, connected to the tunnel by escalators and lifts, adapted to the transport of prams and bicycles. The implementation is also related to the construction of an additional platform from the side of Tunelowa Street and the construction of a Multifunctional Building with a Railway Station Hall. The reconstruction of the track system is to enable the free passage of trains from the ring line to the Radom line, and thus create direct connections between SKM Piaseczno – Legionowo and Legionowo – Chopin Airport. The scope of work concerns m.in. construction of 30 km of tracks, 130 turnouts and over 64 thousand. meters of DSM columns reinforcing the soil.
