Budimex has signed a contract with General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways, Łódź Branch, for the design and construction of the S12 expressway. As part of the contract, a 14.4 km long section will be built from the border of the Łódź Voivodeship to the Przysucha junction. The implementation of the entire investment is planned for 43 months (excluding winter periods).
The S12 expressway, running from the Łódź Voivodeship through southern Mazovia towards the Lublin region, will have two carriageways with two lanes in each direction. The new road from the border of the Łódź and Mazowieckie Voivodeships will bypass Gielniów, Goździków and a number of smaller towns from the south. Ultimately, it will pass from the north next to the village of Przysucha, leading transit traffic out of the cities through which the DK12 road runs.

The section will be part of a route that will facilitate travel between the western and eastern borders of Poland in the future. As part of the contract, Budimex will build the Gielniów junction at the intersection of national road No. 12 and provincial road 728, 23 engineering structures such as bridges, viaducts and animal crossings, municipal roads and infrastructure for pedestrians and cyclists will also be rebuilt. The net value of the entire investment is 367.5 million, and the completion date is scheduled for 43 months from the date of signing the contract. The time of completion of the works does not include winter periods (i.e. from 16 December to 15 March).
